24 Sep What does an estate agent do?
If you were to ask someone what an estate agent does, I’m sure they would think they know the answer. An Estate Agent markets your house and secures a sale, right? How they do this can vary from agent to agent. They usually showcase it on their website, in the shop front and they may use various other forms of marketing like social media, print advertisement and websites like Rightmove to make sure your property gets the coverage it needs.
They also arrange property viewings and keep sellers updated so that the maximum can be received from a sale.
But once an offer has been made you may be mistaken for thinking an estate agents work is done.
Accepting an offer on your property
What a lot of clients don’t realise is that once an offer has been accepted on your house, that’s when our experience really comes in to play. It is a crucial time in the sale of a property, and it’s when lots of hard work happens behind the scenes. You will want us to make sure the sale is fully secured so that all the hard work of the past few months is not in vain.
It takes time, effort and dedication to keep everyone working closely together and communicating within the chain. A recent survey by the Relocation Agent Network has shown that three-quarters of responding agents dedicate over 30% of their time to this period, from the offer being made to the exchange of contracts. During this time, it is important to keep you, the client, in the loop so you are up to date on the sale of your property.
Questions and stipulations need to be assessed before a contract can be drawn up that will suit both parties. While the aim is to get to this point as quickly as possible, we know that sometimes there are bumps in the road along the way. Our experience and knowledge of our industry sets us apart from others and helps ensure the process of buying or selling a property is as smooth as possible.
Working with the Relocation Agent Network
Here at Rush, Witt & Wilson, we are privileged to have been selected to be part of the Relocation Agent Network.
